On April 24, Ward and Smith’s X. Lightfoot and Melissa Forshey Schwind joined HR leaders and diversity advocates for Triangle SHRM’s “Navigating DEI Challenges in 2025” panel at RTP Frontier.

X., a labor and employment attorney and Triangle SHRM’s Diversity Chair, moderated the discussion, while Melissa, the firm's Director of Attorney Talent, served as one of the featured panelists. They were joined by DeWarren K. Langley, JD, MPA, Executive Director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Foundation.
