This month's Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce Power Luncheon will be a treat for sports fans.
East Carolina University's basketball coach Joe Dooley will be the featured guest on Tuesday, May 15. Back in April, the university announced that Dooley would lead the men's team, his second stint at the helm of the Pirates' program.

After leading Florida Gulf Coast to five conference titles and five consecutive 20-win seasons, former ECU head men's basketball coach Joe Dooley has returned for a second stint at the helm of the Pirates' program. Dooley is the Pirates' all-time Division I leader in winning percentage (.523). In 30 years as an assistant and head coach, Dooley has helped lead six different programs into the postseason, accumulated 657 victories with 14 NCAA Tournament appearances and seven NIT bids.
The Power Luncheon, sponsored by Ward and Smith, starts at noon at the Hilton Greenville. Tickets are still available, $20 for members and $30 for non-members. The deadline to register online is May 14. Tickets may be available for walk-ups on the day of the event for an additional $5 charge.
