Ward and Smith attorney Matthew Jones has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America, Cape Fear Council.
This role allows Matthew to lend his knowledge and leadership skills to an organization that has long been a cornerstone of youth development in North Carolina.
Matthew, a proud Eagle Scout, brings a personal connection to the Scouts' mission. “Scouting has been an integral part of my life, shaping my values and providing me with countless opportunities for growth and leadership,” said Matthew. “I am honored to give back to an organization that has taught me so much and to help prepare the next generation of Scouts.”
The Cape Fear Council serves Scouts in seven counties (New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Bladen, Robeson, Scotland, and Hoke), offering programs that promote character development, citizenship, and leadership. As a board member, Matthew will collaborate with other community leaders to advance the council's initiatives, strengthen its outreach, and ensure the continued success of its programs.
