Ward and Smith is proud to sponsor Work on Wilmington, a community service initiative led by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Wilmington program.
This annual event unites hundreds of volunteers to complete service projects across the city—all in just four hours.
This year's Work on Wilmington will take place on Saturday, April 26, with more than 700 volunteers participating in 33 service projects for nonprofits throughout Wilmington and New Hanover County. The impressive volunteer turnout is thanks in part to Madeline Williams, a Ward and Smith attorney who is currently part of the Leadership Wilmington Class of 2025. As Chair of the Volunteer Committee, Madeline has played a key role in recruiting volunteers, coordinating participants, and ensuring that volunteers are assigned to projects where they can make the greatest impact.
Madeline’s efforts have been supported by her fellow Volunteer Committee members and Leadership Wilmington classmates, all of whom have worked diligently to make this year’s event a success. The Leadership Wilmington Class of 2025 is excited to complete these projects as part of New Hanover County’s largest single-day volunteer service event.
Madeline will graduate from Leadership Wilmington in May, joining a group of Ward and Smith alumni who have also completed the program, including Isabelle Chammas, Chris Edwards, Allen Trask, and Jeremy Wilson.
