This heartwarming event will showcase local heroes who "embody a 'service above self' mindset in our local region." The spotlight will shine on these extraordinary individuals:
• Peace and Conflict: Michael Lamb, Asheville Police Dept
• Disease Prevention and Treatment: Dr. Joel Callahan, Pardee Hospital
• Water Sanitation and Hygiene: Renee Fortner, RiverLink
• Maternal and Child Health: Trish Hickling Beckman
• Basic Education and Literacy: Victoria Roberts, Read to Succeed
• Economic and Community Development: Matthew Bacoate, Jr
• Supporting the Environment: Ken Brame and Judy Mattox, Sierra Club
Beyond honoring local heroes, this event serves as a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Asheville Foundation. Your support fuels projects like local scholarships, first responder recognition, environmental protection, and international aid in Guatemala, Honduras, and Argentina.
Heroes Hoorah runs from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Embassy Suites Downtown Asheville. Individual tickets are still available. Reserve your spot here.
