Attorney Amy Wooten has been appointed to two prestigious positions within the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA)—the Professionalism Committee and the Membership Committee of the NCBA's Insurance Law Section. This remarkable feat demonstrates her skilled proficiency as a lawyer, as well as her commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards within the legal profession.
The Professionalism Committee bears the onerous responsibility of enforcing strict ethical guidelines within the legal community, as well as selecting the recipient of the renowned H. Brent McKnight Renaissance Lawyer Award—which honors exemplary professionals who embody the spirit of professionalism. Amy's appointment to this committee demonstrates her unwavering commitment to upholding integrity and justice.
Alongside her appointment to the Professional Committee, Amy Wooten was also elected to the Section Council of the NCBA Insurance Law Section. Leveraging her expansive knowledge of insurance law, she has been instrumental in creating the Insurance Counsel and Recovery Practice Group at Ward and Smith, which she co-leads alongside Allen Trask.
Amy will serve on both committees for one-year terms.
