With a background as a Privacy and AI Analyst, Jacob helps clients ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other state laws. He advises businesses on best practices for privacy protection, emphasizing legal requirements and data handling risks. Jacob also assists clients with compliance program development, data breach response, and licensing and technology transaction matters.
Additionally, Jacob assists clients with intellectual property issues relating to trademark and copyright law.
Jacob holds multiple industry-recognized certifications, including CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, and CIPT, reflecting his deep commitment to safeguarding data and promoting responsible AI practices.
Before joining Ward and Smith, Jacob served as a judicial intern under the Honorable Allison Riggs of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
