Attorney Will Oden has been elected Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association's (NCBA) Dispute Resolution Section for the 2023-2024 Bar year, having previously served as the Section's Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer (and a member of the Section Council since 2017).
The NCBA's Dispute Resolution Section's membership consists of mediators, arbitrators, and other dispute resolution professionals. The Section addresses and educates its members on issues that are relevant to mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution in North Carolina. The Section also works with the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission ("NCDRC"), which is responsible for certifying and regulating North Carolina mediators.
Will has practiced employment law with Ward and Smith since 2004. He also serves as a mediator for other North Carolina attorneys and has been certified by the NCDRC since 2013.
Will is also serving a three-year term on the NCBA's Board of Governors and is now a member of its Executive Committee.
