Attorney Mike McIntyre will be a featured speaker at the North Carolina Bar Association's "If Not You, Then Who? Professionalism in Interesting Times" CLE on December 6.
The one-day program will bring legal professionals together to explore the importance of professionalism in law practice.
Known for his commitment to public service and the legal profession, Mike will deliver a session titled "Professionalism: An Opportunity for Leadership." His presentation will highlight how attorneys, as officers of the court and community leaders, can exemplify professionalism while fostering leadership within their communities. His insights are particularly relevant as he recently received the NCBA's prestigious H. Brent McKnight Renaissance Lawyer Award. This award honors an attorney who embodies qualities such as professionalism, civility, and service to the community in memory of Judge H. Brent McKnight.
In addition to Mike's presentation, the program also includes various sessions emphasizing professionalism. Chief Judge Albert Diaz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit will open the event with a keynote address on the essential role of professionalism from a judicial perspective. Judge V. Stuart Couch will share insights on handling professional challenges, and Judge Paul L. Jones (Ret.) N.C. Superior Court, 8th Judicial District, will lead a discussion on the importance of professionalism in law and its impact on becoming a better attorney.
The agenda also includes a second panel dedicated to civility and integrity in practice and a segment on the mandatory electronic filing in North Carolina courts.
The "If Not You, Then Who?" CLE will take place in person at the North Carolina Bar Center in Cary, NC. It is approved for 5.50 hours of ethics/professional responsibility and 1 hour of technology training CLE credit.
