Ward and Smith is pleased to announce the appointment of attorney Amy Fitzhugh as co-chair of its Professional Licensing Practice Group.
She joins Jim Wilson in leading an experienced team of attorneys who have represented professional licensees, such as physicians, nurses, engineers, real estate agents, contractors, and many other licensed professionals before licensing boards and agencies in North Carolina.
Leveraging her past experience as the first in-house attorney for the North Carolina Board of Nursing, Amy has consistently showcased her astute legal knowledge while representing clients facing investigations, disciplinary action, administrative proceedings, reinstatement issues, and licensing issues across a range of industries.
"We are proud to count Amy among our ranks," stated Co-Chair Jim Wilson. "Her insight and creativity are invaluable assets that will enrich our group's standing and reputation, and her leadership will be instrumental in leveraging the group's strengths and elevating its capabilities to new heights."
In her new role, Amy will focus on leading the group's efforts to help clients stay in compliance with their respective licensing boards, as well as identify and mitigate potential risks. She will also be working closely with members of the firm's other practice groups to ensure an integrated approach to meeting the needs of clients facing a broad range of challenges.
"I am honored to be chosen to join Jim in leading this team of highly experienced professionals," said Amy. "I am excited to collaborate with them to bring the very best counsel and service to our clients as they navigate their most difficult legal challenges."
