Are you ready to join the Twin Rivers YMCA Turkey Trot? This annual event is a great way to get in your steps before Thanksgiving dinner while giving back.
Ward and Smith is a proud sponsor of the organization's Turkey Trot, which has something for everyone. Join us on Thanksgiving morning -- that's November 24 -- at the Taberna County Club in New Bern at 7:30 a.m.
There's a 5k route for families, strollers, and leashed dogs, and it will be open to timed and untimed runners and walkers. The 10K is geared toward competitive runners only and will be timed.
Can't make it on Thanksgiving? The YMCA offers a virtual option to complete either the 5K or 10K between November 24-26. You can run or jog in your neighborhood or at a park. If you want to get creative, you could even hike, walk your dog, or use your treadmill to complete the race.
Tickets for the 15th Annual Turkey Trot are still on sale, with 100% of the race proceeds supporting the nonprofit's Annual Campaign. This campaign provides financial assistance towards programs, such as swim lessons, Summer Day Camp, and YMCA membership.
