About Me
My Motto is…
“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions moved to tears. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a heck of a day.” – Jim Valvano
What I admire most about my clients…Each client comes to me with a unique story. I could spend all day listening to them talk about what they've done to get where they are, who the important people in their lives are, and what type of legacy they'd like to leave behind. It's an honor and privilege every time I get to be a part of someone's story through the work that I do, however big or small.
The best thing about Ward and Smith is…The office and the people here have a positive energy to them that makes coming in to work each day fun. Everyone truly puts the client first and has a positive attitude doing it.
I became a lawyer because…I knew I had the opportunity to be a trusted advisor to people in their times of need. The feeling of being entrusted with a client's important problems, and being able to find them solutions, is why I do what I do. Whether someone only meets with me once, or we have a relationship that lasts years, I want them to feel as if they're better off for it.
One surprising thing people don't know about me is…I grew up and am still a huge NC State fan and football season ticket holder.
Where I'd most like to live and why…Montana. I grew up hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors, and I think it would be a beautiful place to live.
